Running & Coaching Bio
Jacob in High School
Jacob Puzey is a runner and international running coach interested in finding and extending his limits while helping others do the same.
By most standards, Jacob’s running career did not start well.  After nearly a year of training, Jacob earned the final spot on his high school’s JV cross country team (#14).  However, through consistent year-round training, Jacob earned a spot on the varsity cross country team the following year (top 7). Despite this progress, Jacob never managed to qualify for the Oregon State Track & Field Championships.
Upon graduation from high school, Jacob walked-on to the cross country team at NJCAA powerhouse, Ricks College, winning back-to-back NJCAA Cross Country Championship team titles in 2000 and 2001.

Jacob worked as a track coach and track meet director at BYU-Idaho before continuing his education and athletic career at BYU-Hawaii where he broke school records in the 5K and 8K and led his team to two Pacific-West Conference titles.  Since BYU-Hawaii only had a cross country team, Jacob volunteered to coach the track team at the local high school, Kahuku, guiding the team to its first state track title and several school and state records.

After completing his undergraduate studies, Jacob returned to his Alma Mater, Hermiston High School, in rural Eastern Oregon to coach cross country and track.  Each year saw Hermiston athletes on the podium at the Oregon State Track & Cross Country Championships, culminating with the school’s first individual state champions in the 800m, 1500m, and 3,000m and the first state cross country team title.  Before departing Oregon to work with McMillan Running, every Hermiston High School record from 800m to 5,000m for women and men had been broken.
While teaching, coaching, and race directing, Jacob continued to train and compete.  As part of a marathon buildup in 2011, Jacob signed up for a trail 50K.  Jacob won that race and has since set numerous course records on various road and trail courses throughout North America.

Jacob gleaned coaching wisdom from each of the coaches with whom he has worked and implements their guiding principles into his own training and the training of the athletes with whom he works.  Jacob coaches athletes from all over the world around of all ages and abilities - from newbies to national champions - and loves helping them reach new heights in their running performance.

    1. One of the plays that teams will run with runners at first and third base is to have the first base runner early break. This comments outlines this play and the best ways to defend against it.I find a website for the rushessay f you want you can visit this site.
